#3 Where to Begin?

It was in 1971. I was pregnant with my 6th child. I was in my birth religious community which says that 'Men are the spokesperson for god. Men are the healers.' I hadn't thought about that much at all. I as busy being a wife and mother.
When a friend of my husband called to tell him that there was a process by which my husband could "hear god's word", my ears pricked up. Why, I don't know. It had not been on my mind. BUT, I was curious.
So, I listened in on their conversation as I served them homemade pie and ice cream.

The next day, when my children were at school or down for a nap and my husband off to his work, I tried the process.
That process changed my life. It opened doors that I did not know were closed. I used that simple process for the next ten years. The connection that appeared that day in 1971 was the Hand I held and that Held Me during the death of a husband, the caring for 9 children. It remains the strength of my life.

So, here it is for you.

Two newsletters ago I suggested three Reality Statements that you can use to set the criteria of those in the Spiritual World who have permission to "speak" to you. That is primary!
If you haven't done that, do it now.
Then:

• You will want to have time and space where you will not be disturbed for about one hour.
• Have a journal and pen or pencil with you.
• Take a few minutes to breathe yourself into your body and the present moment. You could listen to music, read poetry or an inspiring book. (In 1971, I read some scriptures.)
• Once you have a sense of being out of the distractions of the world, close your eyes and call to those Spiritual friends who know and love you. (You may not know who they are or even have experiences that say that they are there, just be curious and call.)
• Then, speak to them as you would to a friend and tell them what is on your mind, like a check in, a release of your mental whirls.
  Now, another breath.
• Ask one question. ( In 1971 I asked a question that related to my children, i.e. what is one actions that I can take that will let them know that they are loved.)
• Here is where you are silent with pen and paper handy.
  It is as if you are on a phone call and listening for the one on the other end to speak. Be still and know… hold space.
• When you first begin, you might get 'static' or silence. That is because you may not have used this Spiritual Connection for some time.
• Ask the question again, affirm that "you are safe and Spiritual teachers of your criteria are welcomed. And listen.
  You may "hear" words, like thoughts in your mind. Write them down.
• You may sense "pictures" or "symbols" write them down.
  You may sense "waves of colors", write them down.

This is a muscle that you are just beginning to use and, like any muscle, it grows stronger with use.

I rarely use scripture any more. However, here is one that comes to mind as I share the importance of this with you.
 
"In the last days, there will be those who say,  Lo here is the answer! or, lo there! Believe it not for, behold, the kingdom of God (Truth) is within you."
 
Energy is vibrations. Energy is frequencies. Vibrations and frequencies contain information. We live in a world of energy and the frequencies around us are full of information. There are many ways of making those vibrations understandable and one way is your own Inner Intuition.
